Gaddafi Continues To Push For A United States Of Africa

Newscast Media — For years, Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi has attempted to convince leaders of Africa that the continent would be a lot better off with a United States Of Africa, under his leadership.  In a summit held this past summer in Kampala, Uganda, Gaddafi told a small group of reporters, I am satisfied that Africa is going along its historic and right road, one day it will become similar to the United States of America. We are approaching the formation of the African Authority, and each time we solve African problems and also move in the direction of peace and unity. We deal with problems step by step. We are continuing to do that.”

As chairman of the African Union (AU) formerly known as Organization Of African Unity (OAU) Gaddafi used his influence to fly Chiefs, Kings, Sultans, Sheiks and other tribal leaders to Libya, and convinced them to declare him ‘King of Kings’ which they did.  This means if Gaddafi were to become the ruler of Africa, his sons would continue his lineage and his grandsons and so forth, giving him a sense of immortality.

Gaddafi also told traditional leaders in an address in Tripoli that once Africa becomes a single state, there would be no elections because of the corrupt nature of the election system in Africa.  Many presidents in Africa don’t even bother debating the issue because it was only a few decades ago that countries fought to free themselves of colonialism, and the thought of giving up their sovereignty seems not only impractical, but they also consider the initiative in its current form as a ‘non-starter’.

The Libyan leader fancies himself to be a liberator of Africa; the continent’s wisest leader, and an intellectual in economics, politics and sociology.
